    Dear SPSS experts,

    given that one is asked to specify a direction for the relation between explanatory variable and response for the Jonckheere-Terpstra test, I was surprised that there seems to be no way to specify that one wants a one-sided test. Many textbooks present the test as a one-sided test, because one-sided questions are often the reason for people to choose this test. Therefore, I think that it would be desirable to allow requesting a one-sided version (though, contrary to some other people, I also think that a two-sided Jonckheere-Terpstra test can be useful).
