  • 1.  ODMRules Node / Local archive

    Posted 01/07/21 12:34 PM
    Hi,

I'm trying to use the ODMRules node to read rulesets that have been downloaded to the local file system, so when creating policy.xml, I fill the Rule execution server URL to my ruleset jar

in ODMRules node I select a policy as created above, but when I select the Ruleset path the configure button show dialog to fill ( server URL, username, password), so I don't have an execution server how can I select rule without connecting to server I'm using local archive jar?

    Regards,
    Anas

    Hi Anas,

In configuring the ruleset path property of the ODMRules node:  After the RuleSet wizard opened, and you chose your selected properties (name, password, URL) in the connect to an ODM Server, you had to have provided the definition of access to the Rule Execution Server.  You click next ~ that starts a query process.  After you defined access, the query is sent to the Rule Execution Server and those results are utilized to populate the fields on the Select Ruleset for the ODMRules node panel.

if you are looking for additional information, I recommend visiting IBM's documentation:

    Before you begin:

    1.  Using Operational Decision Manager (ODM) Business
         Rules.
    2.  Executing ODM Business Rules by Utilizing an
         ODMRules node.
    3.  ODMRules node.

If you need to re-check your configurations for the ruleset path, please visit:

     https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSTTDS_11.0.0/com.ibm.etools.mft.doc/bc40829_.html

    There's
a wealth of information on using the Operational Decision Manager (ODM)/Business Rules/and working with ODMRules node at IBM's Cloud Pak for Integration:

    https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSTTDS_11.0.0/com.ibm.etools.mft.doc/bz91600_.html

I make the above stated recommendations just in case you didn't have access to any of the documentation referenced above.

I sincerely hope this material is helpful in explaining the process that occurs after you've chosen your properties in the connect to the ODM Server.

    Sincerely,

    Yvonne

    Hi Annas,

The discovery in the toolkit only works against a real ODM server.
The expected workflow is that you develop and test your ruleset and as part of that you will have deployed it to an ODM RES server.
Then you can run the discovery wizard against that ODM RES server to configure the node.
Then after that you can download your ruleset.jar, point the policy file at it, and then deploy the policy along with the message flow and it will use the downloaded ruleset jar.

    Thanks
    David
