ODBC connection using ODBC Driver 18 for SQL Server

    I am using SPSS Statistics 28.0.1.1 and am trying to use a ODBC connection that is set up using ODBC Driver 18 for SQL Server. The ODBC connection connects to a database in Microsoft Fabric using a Service Principal account. The ODBC connection itself works fine, I can use it from Excel for example. However, I can't get it to work from SPSS. I select the ODBC Source, I give the user id and password, but then nothing happens. If I click Next one more time I am prompted to give user id and password again, but when doing that again nothing still happens.

    Does anybody have an idea what I'm doing wrong. Apparently the ODBC connection works find but not through SPSS?

    IBM SPSS Statistics is tested and supported for ODBC data sources using the SPSS Data Access Pack (SDAP).

    For IBM SPSS Statistics 28.0.1.1, the corresponding SDAP is 

    IBM SPSS Data Access Pack 8.1 Multiplatform English M03HDEN
