Hi Prem,
I'm sorry but I'm not sure I understand your problem description. I'll
rephrase what you describe and see if I understand your problem. You have
a LUN assigned to a client that is a network Share provisioned on an IBM
SAN(StorageAreaNetwork). This LUN is being backed up to your TSM server
with complex NTFS permissions without inheritence and the restore of that
LUN including all the NTFS permissions are restoring successfully to the
SAN share. You have a similar LUN that is also a network share attached
to another system provisioned using a NAS(NetworkAttachedStorage) also
being backed up by TSM but the NTFS permissions are not restoring with the
data on the NAS share.
Have I described your issue correctly?

Subject: [storage-ti] - RE: NTFS Permission is not restoring
Hey Gary,
Thank you for your input glad you have have shared your experience, I am
confused on one point only I have one IBM SAN Storage from that I have
assigned one LUN to TSM server and shared over network where permission
are not inheriting and highly complex NTFS permission is assigned that is
also backing up, and when i tried to restore the backup all the NTFS
permission is restoring as assigned before the backup or you can say
actual permission, at the same time in NAS case it is not here I am
confused.
Thanks
Prem
