    I do have two Dual Port FC adapters ( 8 Gbps ) which are currently assigned to VIO server.

    The client Lpars are accessing back end disk ( DS5000) through VSCSI protocol ( one FC port from each FC Adapter).

    Now one of Lpar on Server is going to be used as TSM server and therfore require to access tape library.

    Question is how i can do that ? One of the option would be to use one FC adapter ports to access disks ( VSCSI ) , while assign second FC Adapter to TSM server as physical adapter... But it will introduce FC Adapters as SPOF.

    Can i configure NPIV on one port of FC Adapter to allow TSM server Lpar to access tape library through virtual FC Adapter configuration , while its second port is still being used to allow lpars to access disk with VSCSI protocol?

    Also kindly let me know about certified HW list to be used with VIO for NPIV configuration.
