  • 1.  Nonsense 2063 error when reading Excel files has returned...

    Posted Thu December 05, 2024 06:24 AM

I've used SPSS since version 24. As far as I remember, mostly in version 26, there was a repeating issue with reading Excel files. For unknown reasons, 2063 error kept popping out, even though file was correct and not particularly sophisticated.  Finally, I've managed to forget about it (developers team - thank you!) until yesterday... Are there any prospects to release a bugfix?

Hi @Soren V. Raben. As far we we know all reported Excel import defects have been fixed in version 30. As you probably know, version 24 has been out of support for some years now and version 26 will go out of support very soon.

    Some questions:

    1. What version of Statistics are you using now?
    2. Are you on MacOS or Windows?
    3. Are you using Statistics Server, or just running in single-seat mode?
    4. Are the problems you are having with the newer .xlsx files, or the older .xls files?

If you are able to send me a sample Excel file that doesn't import for you I will be happy to try it in version 30 and report back to you.

    Regards,

    Hello Soren V. Raben,

Please verify that you are on SPSS version 26.
This is error was previously fixed in version 24.0 Fix Pack 2 .

Also, if you have a current support contract, you might consider upgrading; version 26 goes out of support 2025-09-30
