    newbie query - Administrative security

    I have websphere application server 6.1 running on solaris 10. I need to set up user id and password for the admin console. If I choose to use ldap reposotiry for authentication, will it be necessary for the user id to have root provilege to the unix server where the websphere server is hosted?

    Please advise.

    ok. I have been able to set up the admin security using Microsoft Directory ldap.

    The new hurdle is setting up the application security. I want my application to be access by only one windows group.

    I have provided a base DN while setting up the admin security but while setting up the application security, when I do a look-up group, I do not see the group that I want to give access to the application.

    How can I accomplish this? Please help.
