    Hello,

    I need to add a new system to my z/OSMF.  This new system will need to use the same setup as the one I have installed.  There is no internet connection or share DASD between the systems.  I'm not sure that I have this entire z/OSMF Sysplex/Systems structure setup correctly as there are 2 Sysplexes (Local and SYSPLEX1) and 5 total System names.  There are no sysplexes in place on the running systems.   I have z/OSMF running on a z/OS 2.5 Customized Offering Delivery to run z/OSMF to do the install.

    My question is, how do I create the new System or Deployment to use the same layout as I used for the deployment that I completed without overwriting what I did?

    Hello Larry,

    If you do not have any TCP/IP (internet/intranet) connection between the Local and SYSPLEX1 systems, z/OSMF running in each of the Sysplexes will not be able to communicate, so there isn't much point in trying to define the remote Sysplexes in the respective z/OSMF Systems app of each Sysplex.

    Normally, a single z/OSMF server is run on one z/OS system in any given Sysplex.  So in your case, I would expect z/OSMF to be started on one of the z/OS systems in Local and one of the systems in SYSPLEX1.  On the z/OSMF in Local, after opening the Systems app, you may find it already populated.  If not, you can run discovery and it should create a Sysplex entry for Local and add all z/OS members of Local to the Sysplex entry.  The same should be the case for SYSPLEX1.

    In the Systems app on Local, you can manually create a Sysplex and system entries for SYSPLEX1 and its z/OS systems.  Similarly, on SYSPLEX1 you can manually create a Sysplex and system entries for Local and its z/OS systems.  When you do this, you should identify the z/OSMF endpoint URL in the z/OS system entry that host z/OSMF on the remote Sysplex.
