If any of the input or output cards do not have a source/target specified, then the Map Designer will assume it is a functional map (blue).  Once all cards have been created correctly, the icon should be that of an executable map (purple).

OK thanks, that resolved my problem.  We have not done much development with this version of the mapping software.  I don't recall this being a requirement with Mercator or Ascential DataStage but apparently it is with IBM WebSphere Transformation Extender.

I do have another problem.  What is generally the problem when you have an input file with multiple records and only getting the first in your output?  I am using a functional map also.  I have a input file with multiple records made up of transaction sets ('T' and 'I' records) and a single output file.  I am able to get my map to work and get the expected output for only for the first transaction set?

I know I have had this problem in the past but it's been so long I can't remember what was wrong.
