There is one point, where you need to be a bit careful: the SAP kernel in ECC 6.0 supports “long” and “mixed-case” passwords, while the 6.40 SAP kernel in R/3 4.7 supports only uppercase passwords with a maximum length of 8.
webMethods SAP Adapter 6.5 also supports only the “old” uppercase short passwords. So in your new ECC 6.0 system you need to be careful to not use the new password features for the user defined on SAP Adapter side. Otherwise the SAP Adapter will no longer be able to log into the SAP system…
