  • 1.  MySQL is not ready

    Hello Community,

    I'm a beginner in Guardium and I'm having a problem with my collector these past 2 days. Every time i try to login I get a warning "Warning : Can't connect to local MySQL server. The cli database login failed". It keeps trying to reconnect to MySQL server but eventually fails and goes into "recovery mode" which does not allow me to do the tasks I need to do. (It was working fine for the past month)

    I have tried restarting MySQL, restarting system, restarting the whole VM but in vain.

    Could someone please advise me on why is this problem occuring and how to solve it ?

    I had the same problem last week with similar conditions, today I have the same error in other collector. I opened a case and the engineer can't made anything. I try many options but nothing works. The only option that I did was rebuild the collector. Today That I have the same condition, I think in the same as solution. I don't know is this version has problem with this MySql version (the version change it in the 11.5), but this never happened before. I'm working with guardium from 10.2 version. In this last version I saw this error.

    not operational MySQL backend is critical issue

    It can be related to many situations: hard reboot, filesystem issue
    Could you provide me information about resources attached to this collector - vcpu, ram?

    I have on this collector 16 GB on RAM, 2 processors with 2 cores each.

    Hi,

    In controlled environment this should work for small test purposes but be aware of minimal requirements is 24 GB RAM (34 for some functionalities)

    Also minimum 6vcpu in case of using UC.

    In my opinion if problem with MySQL happened after a while (not an issue visible just after collector deployment) then it happened  sfter hard reboot or you lost storage consistency.

    I suggest collector reinstallation in case of lab machine

    Then install hypervisor tools in case of ESX or HyperV and never restart machine using hard reboot - the "restart system" and "stop system" commands should be invoked from cli.

    Hello Zibi:

    In my case I have installation in Vmware with high resources 32GB, 1TB of disk and 4 core cpu. With two collector with same problem I had suspicious with the new version. I upgraded this platform after one year working fine. And the upgrade was only for the SAP HANA compatibility.

    Hi Carlos,
    I had also some issues with patch to p500 with some collectors. In this situation (if system is entitled) please open support case to identify the souce of problem. To avoid similar situations in future

    Be aware that patch bundles (especially GPU) requires the latest! 9997 installed to avoid patching if not all requirerements are filled up. (all the time check what is the latest 9997 and apply it before GPU)

    Did your patching process finish with success confirmation?

    Yes I applied the new 9997 patch, because the system sent an error with the install patch 500, after this, the patch was applied successfully and working fine 3 weeks. I reopened the case with support team but they do not contact me. At this time I decided rebuild the system. Right now I have 70% of installation in progress.
