Hi,

Has anybody installed my webMethods server on windows vista? The portal installs fine. But when i run the configurator, it takes several hours to install. And after that, when i tried to start the server, it seems to hang at the step

“Initializing components of: portlet”.

Please help.

BTW: MWS 7.0SP2 does not support windows vista.

or is it just that webMethods has not officially certified windows Vista?

You may take a look at disabling certain features which may have impact: firewalls and antivirus (or what ever else Vista network protection).

Thanks a lot, Alex. Disbaling the anti virus did the trick. I was able to install MWS
in minutes!

When I tried to install MWS in Vista, it keeps complaining the port number is already in use, even though I tried all different port number, including 8585, 18585, 8181, etc.

Please help.

However the OS is RED HAT AS 4.0.

There is no firewall set…

Can anyone point me in some direction.
