Hi,
My MWS is installed as a windows service and the service is running successfully but when i open the [URL]http://localhost:8585/mywebmethods[/URL]
Can you please suggest what i may be missing ?

Start it from a windows console and see what errors you are getting. My best guess is the MWS DB is down or there are multiple servers listening on the same port, 8585.

Also please check the MWS logs
webMethods_Home/MWS/Server/Default/logs it will have date associated with it and see if the log file exists or not:
