    Dear IBM Community,

in our environment (CA 11.2.2) we are randomly receiving an error message:

MSR-SMT-2192 Unable to discover knowledge from metadata and data. The progress and smarts module URIs are missing from the response.

Users are getting this error when they are trying to load schemas through their data server connections. The only fix we found out is to restart whole dispatcher service. However I do not like this solution as the only option, so I would like to do some analysis of this error.

I would like to know if anyone faced with this error? Do you have any tips how to fix this issue? Where could we find logs about MSR kind of errors? I tried to check logs on our dispatcher but there is no such an information about that.

    Thank you!

    I've seen the problem.

I know there was a fix for it in 11.2.1. That does not mean it could not still happen in 11.2.1 or 11.2.2, though, just that we attempted to stomp out the problem and the tests which I performed to verify the fix did not discover problems.

The error should have more information in the cognosserver.log file, which is in the ../logs directory of your CA server.  Most of that information would probably not be much help in dealing with the issue, I think, except for development.

What version of CA are you using? What DB?

If you are using 11.2.1 or 11.2.2 and the problem still happens it would be a good idea to contact customer support so a test case for the problem could be identified. It would be nice if we could stomp it out.

One workaround would be to uncheck the sampling checkbox in the load options.  That is bought at the price of things such as reduced accuracy of the assignment of the usage property values and the represents taxonomy.

I'm concerned about the restarting of the dispatcher.  Could you elaborate about what observations you made which prompted you to determine that restarting the dispatcher was necessary please.  It shouldn't be the case and more information could be helpful as it could be a symptom of some other issue.
