  • 1.  MQ MQF log reader

    Is anyone aware of any "Log Reader" tools for simplifying and centralizing viewing MFT system logs?
    If not something central, something that can run locally on each server, configures to point to specific log files.

    Hi Guy,

    Are you referring to output0.log file of MFT?  MFT agent events are written to a file called output0.log and is located in <mq data>/mqft/logs/<coordination qm name>/agents/<agent name>/logs folder. This file will contain environment data, PID,  Java Heap Size, Configuration properties, startup information, logs to indicate a transfer going to recovery, resource monitor stopping due to any error, etc. The file will basically contain log of any event that an agent encounters. 

    The log file is a per agent basis and is text file containing user friendly information about agent events.

    output0.log contains agent stop / start info, and if the agent encountered an internal issue with a transfer. It does not contain general info about individual file transfers. Therefore a "log reader" may have limited value, depending on your requirements.

    MFT publishes MQ messages containing detailed status information about all transfers. This may be of more value.
