    Hello,

Is it possible to move published excel reports between folders?
These published reports are used in the workspace.

I searched the documentation, but haven't found anything.

I would use PAFé or Perspectives. Open the Excel file from the original folder and publish it to the new folder, then delete it from the old folder.

    Hi Felix,
You can't do this action on the Excel reports within PAW.
You would have to open/download in PAfE, then use the PAfE and open dialog to delete the file from that folder and then re-publish to the new folder in PAfE.
After that the reports will be usable in PAW with no issues.
    Check this video:
    https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/planning-analytics/2.0.0?topic=analysis-publish-workbook-tm1-server-application-folder
    Basicly follow this three steps:
    1. Open published sheet in PA for Excel and save it somewhere.
    2. Delete the sheet (through the Open dialog or Publish dialog).
    3. Re-publish this sheet to the folder of your choice.
    Best Regards,

    Hi,

    Thanks for the response.
The proposed method has one downside, the existing reports in PAW are no longer usable.
I was hoping for a more elegant solution.

    Hi Felix,

You should not be getting that error - if you followed the three step instructions I posted above then the workbook would have been deleted and then republished to a new folder.
If this is indeed what you did and the error appeared then you should open a Support case with a simple and reproducible testcase.

    Hi Felix/Sventlana,

I *think* you two may have crossed wires on this last bit.
I believe Svetlana is thinking that the error is appearing when you add the newly renamed Workbook into a PAW book.

I think the behaviour you are actually seeing though is normal, as I understand you already had some PAW books with reference to "LocationA/TargetWorkbook" - you have since deleted "LocationA/TargetWorkbook" and created "LocationB/TargetWorkbook". After doing this when you open your PAW book it is still looking for a workbook in LocationA and not finding it which is why the error message comes up. I don't think the ticket will help.

I can't see a way that IBM could automate such things, as it is possible to have 2 books with the same names in different folders - so you wouldn't want it to automatically decide to use a different folder's book because it has the same name.
What I think would be nice however is if you could see and change the filepath after clicking "Properties" on a workbook in PAW and when you do change it to another book, it keeps the location/position and if possible any synchronization options for dimensions that are the same between the old book and the new one you have replaced it with.

    Thanks,

    Declan

    Hi Declan,

    Your analysis is correct.
Having a funcitonality to move or edit a filepath of a publisched workbook would be nice.

    Hi Felix and Declan,
Yes, I got the impression that the concern was just with the republished websheet hence the suggestion for the case.
Analyzing your suggestion I should observe that we offer a shorter solution:
Edit book -> Delete websheet -> Add websheet. -> Save book

If your ask to be implemented it would be longer sequence:

Copy websheet path -> Edit book -> Click widget-> Go to properties -> Navigate to the proper property -> modfy -> save.

However, this feature if voted/needed could be implemented as well, please post on ideas,

    Hi All,

We plan to implement functionality that allows an existing Websheet widget to be pointed to a different Websheet without removing and re-adding the Websheet widget to the book.  I would expect that we would also display the (invalid) path of the Websheet as part of the error message that Felix is showing us.
