  • 1.  More "Lockdown Webinars"

    Posted 04/07/21 03:54 AM
Please see the note below from my college Matt Roseblade (It WAS a nice day when he sent the original message!):

It's a lovely Spring day and time for me to schedule and announce some more Lockdown Webinars.

Ideally, I'd like to call them 'Almost-out-of-Lockdown' Webinars' but we have to stay realistic, careful and working at home.   That means that IBM still can't come to you to tell you about the many great mainframe things we've been doing.  But we have been doing a lot of interesting, useful and valuable things and we'd like to tell you about them through the sometimes-challenging medium of Webex.

A small change from last year -  the sessions will be 45 minutes long.   That'll give you a chance to stretch your legs, make a tea etc.  One thing we've all learned in this last year is that back-to-back meetings are not helpful at all.

Here are the first four.  Please register early, using the links below.  Please contact me if registration doesn't work for you.

Thursday April 8th 15:00 BST (note the later time) - How resilient is your mainframe? Introducing IBM Z Batch Resiliency & the IBM Z Cyber Vault
Your existing HA/DR isn't necessarily going to protect your critical data from a cyber attack or a problem that propagates across copies, affecting all data. The IBM Z Cyber Vault provides air-gapped data corruption protection and tools to keep your data safe from cyber attacks and problems that could spread to trusted copies. The IBM Z Cyber Vault is made up of 'traditional' data centre components - hardware, storage, GDPS, security software and one new, vital component - IBM Z Batch Resiliency (IZBR). Find out how IZBR provides precision audit insights, high-value resiliency management of non-database-managed data and applications, and surgical recovery of any dataset from Safeguarded Copy in the IBM Z Cyber Vault

Thursday April 15th 13:00 BST (back to the normal time) - IBM Z Table Accelerator - Boost performance. Reduce cost.
IBM Z Table Accelerator (IZTA) is an application optimization solution aimed at helping application owners boost the performance of mission-critical IBM Z applications and enabling cost-conscious IT operations leaders to reduce resource consumption. IZTA delivers high value by enhancing performance while reducing the Total Cost of Ownership associated with your z/OS environment.
