Educational basics are always needed, but how do we gain that in-depth knowledge needed to understand, manage, monitor, diagnose, and maintain our critical solutions, and how do we make sure that our folks have the right skills to be successful?

In the recent z/OS DFSMS Academy, we kicked off with many basics.  They were well received, with requests for more in-depth sessions.  Going into 2021 there will be more z/OS DFSMS Academies, offering a mix of basics and focused topics, complemented by workshops that will take a deeper look into critical applications and solutions that are part of DFSMS.  Some workshops that are being considered include:

·      SMS Policies and constructs and how they are used beyond initial allocation and placement of data

·      Transparent Cloud Tiering

·      Fast Replication

·      Cyber Resiliency

·      Solution specific Ask Me Anything 

o   Pre-scheduled 'office hours' with DFSMS Subject Matter Experts
