Monitoring User Sessions

For an application hosted on WAS 6.1.0.23, I would like to be able to:

1) Identify how many users currently have sessions.
2) Identify which users currently have sessions.
3) Identify the maximum number of concurrent sessions for a given time period.

Is any of this functionality available from within WAS? Are there any third-party tools that would provide this functionality? Or is this something that must be built into the application by the vendor?

I think the 3rd party tool Wily would do it. To start with, you can give a try with the IBM's own Tivoli viewer (should be there with the WAS) which reads out the PMI stat of the WebSphere Performances.

Thanks, Sphere41. I cannot tell if the CA (Wily) products would meet my need. I cannot find any meaningful information about them - nothing but fuzzy marketing fluff on their web site. If Tivoli has what I am looking for, I am not able to interpet what I am looking at.

Any other suggestions before I file this away under the category of /"pipe dreams/"?

Tivoli Performance Viewer comes with WSAS. It is not a separate product. You can use TPV to collect/view PMI data.

The servlet session counters available thru PMI as listed at:
