I have a problem here with our 9117-570 running AIX 6.1. We use it to test memory modules and processor cards. Sometimes when i put memory into the machine AIX recognizes only half of the size (bootinfo -r). For example, i put in 4x 4GB and AIX shows me 8GB. But the memory is not shown as deconfigured in the system management !?
But that's not with all memory modules, it seemes to affect only some FRUs. On Other FRUs with the same size all works fine. Can anyone tell me a possible reason for this ?

Ah, ok. I suspected something like this. But i think this affects only the size of the memory and not the part numbers of the memory modules !? The strange thing is i dont have this problem with all part numbers. And if i dont have a MOD, what does that say to me ? The machine is only running local with AIX without network connection or any server application on it.
