App Connect Enterprise 12 is the latest major engineering release of the software previously known as ACE 11, IIB 10 and many names before! ACE 12.0.1.0 was released at the end of May 2021, and subsequently ACE 12.0.2.0 came out at the end of September.

This session will focus on how to migrate to version 12 starting from either IBM Integration Bus 10 or App Connect Enterprise 11.

Please join me and @David Coles in this on demand recording Migrating to IBM App Connect Enterprise 12 . Share any of your questions below and register to watch here.

    Thanks,

HI Ben, if you can cover how global cache may be handled after migration to ACE v12 in containers that would be helpful.  @Ben Thompson

    Hi Ben,
Thank you for this presentation; Comes right in time when people are migrating from IIBv10 due to its nearing EoS date.

Just a quick question; Honestly a lot of sites use log4j (IAM3) for their application logging purposes; now that IAM3 shows no plan to be "ported" to ACEv12 and log4j's recent security; What is the recommended migration option for IAM3 for ACEv12?

    Hi Elmer,

Regarding Support Pac IAM3, this is currently classified as a Category 2 support pack ...
    https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/iam3-websphere-message-broker-node-log4j

Category 2 SupportPacs come with this statement of technical support:

Category 2 SupportPacs are provided in good faith and AS-IS. There is no warranty or further service implied or committed and any supplied sample code is not supported via IBM product service channels.
You may submit a question and return email address using the 'rate this page' below, but a response is not guaranteed.
Please read the license information contained within the zip file of this SupportPac to determine if you want to use it.

The page linked above, has been updated with advice in line with the recent log4j vulnerabilities.

As noted, the pack has not yet received attention for working in ACEv12, although given the very close similarity between the v12 and v11 architectures, it might well be worth contacting the support pack site to query on whether the code could be used successfully with v12 as I suspect it would be fine.

Gradually, many other support pack offerings have moved to the github.com/ot4i organisation where the community can better support themselves with access to the source code, so long term if the pack's author would like, I would be happy to help coordinate with them to have the code moved there if they would like.

We don't have any current plans to move the code into the standard supported product, but if you would like to see this happen you could also raise an enhancement request idea in Aha and it will be considered through that standard process.

    Cheers,
    Ben

Thanks for the presentation, have following questions:
    • Backward compatibility of ACE 12 BAR files, can it be deployed to ACE 11 Integration Nodes?
    • Starting with ACE11 we can only disable trace nodes at the Integration Server level and not at the individual message flow/application level. Trace Nodes disabling at Message flow/Application level with ACE 12?

    Hi Ben,

Is it better to migrate to IBm ACE 11 or IBM ACE 12?

    Hello Ben,
We are planning for migration from IIB 10 on windows to ACE 12 on windows. Are there any known challenges on windows platform or any missing feature on Windows Vs Any other Platform (AIX, Linux)
