Next year the lease will expire on the frame and I have been asked to look at the possibility of another Power box running AIX or some Intel solution on Linux in a VMWare environment. I would prefer moving to the new Power8 machine running AIX, however cost is always a factor in the investigation.

Has anyone successfully looked at this? Has anyone actually done this type if migration? I would also entertain speaking with anyone also...

How hard was the project? Any recommendations? I want to say I do like AIX and Power!
