  • 1.  Migrating Oracle data to DB2 z/os

    Has anyone migrated Oracle data to DB2 z/OS?  I'm trying to use Database Conversion Warehouse Full client and I don't see a target database for IBM Z.  I see options for IBM UDB.   The documentation seems to say it's supported.  But, I don't see the IBM Z choice.

    I am no expert on DB2, but this is an expert from an understanding DB2 book. "All versions of DB2 on distributed platforms and on MVS, AS/400, VM, and VSE have adopted the name DB2 UDB". 

    So your IBM UDB option should work.

    DB2 for LUW or DB2 z/OS  are two different things form a technical point.
    Some years ago i had a Oracle Transparent gateway on our z/OS machine / DB2 subsystem - see this list below
    Therefor the question : is your Warehouse Client an Oracle product ?

    As a DB2 z/OS DBA  i know from earlier days the Oracle Gateway - installed on z/OS
    the  oracle product for today is may be - the db2 z/OS dba has to do some work
