  • 1.  Migrating from one server to the next

    Posted 03/24/03 03:57 PM

Hello, I’m looking for any information regarding best practice on moving applications (packages, server config, etc) from one 4.6 IS to the next. For instance, if you have one server for development, QA, Production. How do you best move applications between these servers without using something like Ghost? TIA for any help.

    Regards,
    Nicholas

    Hi, Nicholas.

I recommend using the Integration Server’s built-in package management to promote packages between environments. The convenience of a single ZIP file and webMethods ability to extract and activate code from the ZIP makes this simple.

There are some folks who have developed fairly sophisticated Flow to manage migration procedures and to meet the requirements set by system administrators.

Regarding configuration files, you should be able to find more information in these conversations:

You can find more by searching for “cnf”.

      Good luck.
