There was only one service deprecated from 6.01 to 6.1, so there’s not much of an issue there.

From a development perspective, there are some additional services now in the pub/sub area to provide additional functionality.

Be sure to pay careful attention to the “Critical Information” section in the readme.html found in the IS installation directory. You can also get it from Advantage by logging into your Advantage account then clicking on this link: http://advantage.webmethods.com/bookshelf/_webMethods_Integration_Server/Integration_Server_6_1/webMethods_Integration_Server_readme_6.1.html

The Critical Information section contains information about things you need to do before upgrading especially if you use a database for the audit data store.

Finally, Developer 6.1 is not backward compatible with previous IS versions. You can not use Developer 6.1 to view or modify services residing on 4.6 or 6.01 servers.

All in all, I think the biggest change is represented by the learning curve for the new Developer IDE. Most developers I have talked to really like the new look and feel, but most have also reported some frustrations as they relearn habits developed on previous versions.
