  • 1.  Migrate from Oracle BI to IBM Cognos BI

    Hello,

    Our organization is in the process of evaluating the possibility of switching from Oracle Business Intelligence to IBM Cognos Business Intelligence version 11.

    My question is: does anyone know if a tool exists that assists with the migration of Oracle Business Intelligence to IBM Cognos Business Intelligence version 11 ? Or do we have to create our environment from scratch?

    I have worked on competitive conversions for many years.  There are a few 3rd party products that will work but the ROI only exists in scale so it depends on how large (many reports) exists in your environment.  At best these tools have a limited success rate and you may find out that the more complex objects just need to be created from scratch.
    Currently we are working with Rolta and DataTerrain to improve their tooling but even then its best to be partnered with IBM Lab Services for overall success.
