sometime ago the decision to sunset Microcode Delivery Services was made. After a while the decision was reverted, but currently it does not offer updates of catlog.mic with following notice:
Notice: MDS and Inventory Scout no longer supports the latest system server firmware information (ie firmware for server FSP or BMC). The latest server firmware information can be obtained from Fix Central or through HMC's. From Jan 2023, Catalog.mic file is not updated with the latest server firmware information, but the file still contains the existing and future system IO firmware information.
Last catalog.mic was updated in May (no in January), but no further updates as for now. As MDS seems to be very handy tool to verify firmware levels (especially adapaters) levels I'm wondering if anyone had find any workaround for the problem (lack of catalog.mic files) or is there any discussion in/with IBM to restore full MDS functionality.
