According to the Map Designer Reference Guide(6.7), Chapter 10, Pg. 178:
i:bfc4aa609fThe WorkSpace settings allow you to optimize the speed of map processing.
♦ When the size of the input data a map is processing is
b:bfc4aa609f large[/b:bfc4aa609f], file-based workspace using default paging is recommended (Workspace = File).
♦ When small amounts of data are processed, smaller page sizes and memory-based workspace is recommended (Workspace = Memory).

What is "large"? As long as you have enough memory available, wouldn't using memory-based workfiles be faster then file-based. I'm looking to process 50-500MB files with hundreds of thousands of records. Any recommendations on Windows NT OS memory requirements and WorkSpace settings?
Thanks.
