Mainframe Adapter

    Hello Guys

I have a question regarding Mainframe Adapter. We do not have the adapter yet but looking into the possibility. We are using ES to inegrate oracle applications and IS with TN for EDI application. All these servers are on Unix

Now we have a need to integrate Oracle applications on Unix with IDMS based applications on IBM mainframe using cobol programs to access database . OS version is VSE -SP2.2 (I beleive this is the reason i am checking with you guy as we do not have MVS) . I do know that we can use IO adapter and then FTP the file to Mainframe and use the normal cobol programs.

Do we have better way and more integrated way of doing this. We do not have IMS and we use CICS not to access IDMS database. (Pardon me for my terms as i am not a mainframe person).

Is there a better solution other than using IO adapter or can someone tell me more about CICS now called Mainframe adapter

    regards
    Rishi
