performance related debate
I have a filesystem that is currently 500GB created from 2 LUNS in 2 seperate arrays. I am going to create a single dedicated array for this server consisting of 9 disks (raid5). The data in the logical volume will be migrated to the new LUN using migratepv
The question is what to do with the 2 luns.
Delete the luns, free up the disk then extend the raid5 array so that it has 18 disks and extend the lun within the array, the single hdisk at the aix level will then have 18 underlying disks in the san
or
create another dedicated array of 9 disks, extend the hdisk into the volume group then extend the logical volume into that hdisk when required
TIA
