  • 1.  Location services in MaaS360

    We need some granularity with Location services. 

     

    1. The location of my iPhone updated this morning at 9:00 AM and stayed that way until 4:00 PM.
    2. I enrolled an Android phone about 20 minutes ago and the location is showing that it was last at the office on the 11th.
    3. Is there anywhere to view device location breadcrumb history? This and an accurate last location are pivotal to us since we have our share of lost devices.

    First I'm going to assume that these are managed devices (Apple DEP enrollment & Android Enterprise).  As I understand it ... and please correct me if I'm wrong ... 
    iOS - depends on the device checking in and the location doesn't update unless the device moves by a mile.  Also factoring into new iOS 13 feature of Location is set to "Always" and not anything else.
    Android - this is a limitation of Android Enterprise b/c it's a managed device.  You can track this with the old manual enrollments & it's history; not with AE.  Also depends on the device checking in and if the location is set to "High Accuracy".

    I've had this same issue in the past and I believe that's what was explained to me.  Hope this helps.
