  • 1.  Location capture notification

    I have a customer who is 100% Samsung tablets which are enrolled using Device Owner.  In the past few days these tablets are receiving notifications that location is being tracked. Is anyone aware of some change to the latest Android O/S or to MaaS?

    Hi Mitch
    I can reply but just want to clarify, can you answer the two questions below please? 
    1. Are the notifications coming at device level or showing from within the MaaS360 app? If coming from the app they should indicate a title or header bar in the notification as to where it is coming from. 
    2. Have Security > Privacy settings been set to disable Location tracking for the ownership type / device group applicable to the devices in question?

    Hi Mitch
    Hadn't seen your reply. We had a case recently where a customer noted this for Device Owner mode. Apparently Location permissions are required by Device Owner and are needed for such things as access to WiFi. While this might not seem logical, it seems to depend on Android permissions. 
    If you could confirm the exact message received and whether from device or app level it might help us to move forward.
