  • 1.  Live Status update in TI process

    Hi ,

    I want to have a live status updates of process executions. By adding a 'Running' status at the start of the process then another status by the end of execution.

    As you know, the process dont commit its data until it finishes, which causes to only have a display of 'Process Ended' at the end of the process and never being able to see 'Running' status. 

    Is there anyway in TI to help me display the live status update?

    Hi Sena,

    Yes, we could potentially add a spinner to show to the user that the process is running as we get this info from a tm1 server. However we may not be able to show you if other users are running the process. Also, refreshing the browser will lead to losing that sort of data. 

    We may think on the better UI regarding the above,

    Hi Sana,

    You can use RunProcess to call a TI that would CelPutS 'running' to wherever you want inside your main TI and it will commit data outside of the main TI transaction, so it will be visible while the main process is running.

    Hi Sana,

    I agree with you that this is functionalities that will be very valuable. I often get asked by users, 'Is the process still running?' and so on. When building modern, intuitive UI this will help to maximize user experience. RunProcess is not always possible when you have multiple users using the same source and destination cubes for contribution and calculations. 

    This 'load bar' does exist in PAW when running a snapshot in the LifeCycle Management. Hopefully, we will have this load bar when running a TI in the future.

    Are you referring to seeing the live status in workbench or a book because you can see a pop up when the process is in running state in the book and as for workbench, while you cannot see the popup, you would see the timer next to the process name in the database tree against that process and the easiest way to navigate to that process is by clicking at "Find in Tree" icon next to Run button.
