Linux Operating System Upgrade - "Server Backup" and "Server Restore" fit to use?

    We are upgrading from RHEL7 to RHEL8 on ESXi VMs for our ILMT instance. The 20 x BES Relays have already been upgraded to RHEL8 and all working on our BF ILMT version (BF 10.0.7.52 and ILMT 9.8.28.0)

    1 x Application server

    1 x Database (DB2 11.5) server

    They will be cloned for contingency....

    The new RHEL8 servers will be 'given back' with same IP address and same hostname, but nothing migrated other than user accounts and groups.

    DB2 will need installing on the Database server.

    Application server will be not have any BF/ILMT installation.

    QUESTION: Will the Backup and Restore procedures work here, which seem quite logical?

    Thanks for the swift response.

    The BigFix Application server is one thing, but both App and BigFix DB2 database server ?

    Is this https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/license-metric-tool?topic=mbc-migrating-license-metric-tool-server-between-computers-same-operating-systems ?

    What's best?

    Do Application Server first using procedure (x) , then follow up with the DB2 server, procedure (y) ?
