  • 1.  Linking a Workflow to Publishing a Process

    My team has been working on developing a way in which processes can be reviewed and approved by an administrator before being published. In order to complete this task we have created a workflow that allows users to link all required information for the process to be approved. Though we are having trouble linking the workflow to publishing the process. Essentially the goal is if a user went to publish a process we would want the workflow we created would pop up and they'd have to complete the application before publishing their process. Does anyone know how to link a workflow to publishing a process? or does anyone know another way to achieve our goal?

    Hi Patrick,

    Are you using a Blueworks Live process app or a workflow external to BWL?

    If you are using a process app you can add a step that prompts the editor to publish the Blueprint.

    If you are using an external workflow system you can use the Blueworks Live API to publish the Blueprint.

    Thanks for the response, the workflow is in Blueworks Live and not an external source. Can you tell me more about next steps in making the editor be prompt to complete the workflow before being able to publish a process?

    I would add a final step in the Process Application for the Editor to perform the publish on the required snapshot.
