Lightweight containers backend connectivity testing - openssl and netcat

  • 1.  Lightweight containers backend connectivity testing - openssl and netcat

    Posted 11/07/22 11:33 AM
@Philip Nye @Scott Exton On ISVA web reverse proxy containers v10.0.4.0 IF1 openssl and netcat are missing.  I had opened an idea ISAM-I-1127 on this about a month ago and it was marked as delivered.  Two questions:

    1. What version will these binaries be back?

    2. In the interim, what is the best way to test connectivity?  curl is there, but that is pretty limited when the developers don't have their servers fully perfect.

    Thanks!

    Matt,

It looks like someone was a little bit too keen to mark this idea as 'delivered'.  The changes have been made to add those 2 commands back into the lightweight  containers, but the commands won't be available until 10.0.5 is released (next month).

In the interim you might just have to use a combination of curl, 'busybox ping' and 'busybox telnet', to test network connectivity.

    I hope that this helps.
