I'm a master's student, and I have an authorization code that the university gave me. I downloaded the SPSS trial and then I tried to activate with an authorization code and clicked the "launch license wizard". However, I saw "The new license takes effect the next time you restart IBM SPSS". When I click restart "no license exists..." message is displayed again. It is like a loop. I don't understand why it's happening. Could you please help me about this problem?

It sounds like you are running hte License Authorization Wizard as a standard user, rather than as an Administrator on this PC/Mac.  Check to see that you have the proper permissions to the SPSS Statistics installation folder -- specifically to the license file ("lservrc").

You might also try licensing the product directly from command line using the 'licenseactivator" executable.  Details for doing this will be found in the IBM SPSS Statistics Installation documentation.
