Hi @Cecilie
Support for students, is provided by the vendor. In this case, ThinkEDU. Please see https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/473051
I understand you are using IBM SPSS Statistics for macOS and are receiving a message about "no license found".
There are basically two reasons to get that error:
- The license file is empty or does not contain a valid license string.
- The executing user does not have sufficient privileges to read the license file.
IBM SPSS Statistics requires you to be logged in as an "Administrator" when performing the install. The same is true for running the License Authorization Wizard (LAW). If you installed as Admin, but now are running the LAW as a standard user, then you may not have the correct privileges to update the local license file -- leaving it empty and leading to the error you see.
Log in as an Administrator
Run the LAW and use your Authorization code from ThinkEDU.
Check that the local license file ("/Applications/IBM SPSS Statistics/Resources/Activation/lservrc") is not empty -- It can be read with any text editor.
