Hi,
I am having issues with the licensing of my copy of SPSS Statistics 26 Standard Gradpack for Mac. I purchased a 12 month licence.
I am running MacOS Catalina 10.15.6. My licence activation wizard (LAW) version is 9.7.0.0
When I first downloaded the program and using the LAW, entering the above code gave me an "Error 7001..” “Symptom 18” — I followed the steps to troubleshoot this as per one of your support articles: https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/error-7001-symptom-18-there-no-license-ibm-spss-statistics-authorized-user
It seemed that the issue I was having was related to my computer’s lock-code starting with “10”. After following the steps in the article to resolve this, and successfully changing my computer lock-code to “4-XXXX"
I then retried the LAW with the same activation code. I got a successful authorisation.
As per the instructions in the article, i restarted my computer expecting SPSS to be fully licensed and working following this.
Instead, on reopening SPSS, I get the 7001/Symptom 18 error again:
“License information for IBM SPSS Statistics 26 installed in /Applications/IBM/SPSS/Statistics/26/SPSSStatistics.app/Contents/bin
No licenses found for IBM SPSS Statistics 26.”
This time, on entering my authorisation code in the LAW, I get the below message:
“Authorization in progress ... (XXXXXXXXX)
Authorization failed.: You are not allowed to generate any more new licenses.
* * * End Of Transaction. * * *
No additional authorizations are permitted on this code. For assistance go to www.ibm.com/planetwide and select your country in order to place a support case online or by phone. Please have your IBM Customer Number or purchase details available. “
I have noticed my computer lock code in the LAW has now changed, to another one, still starting with a "4".
I have also checked the “lservrc” file, as I understand this can sometimes be a cause of this error.
I urgently need to be able to use SPSS, and this has been quite frustrating.
Please help with fixing these licencing issues!
