  • 1.  latest rsync does not work...somehow

    after upgrading to latest rsync(3.2.3-1), simple rsync tasks are ending in errors.

    root@nimmsag: /root # /opt/freeware/bin/rsync --rsync-path=/opt/freeware/bin/rsync -azP /software/ root@nimvie:/software/ rsync: connection unexpectedly closed (0 bytes received so far) [sender] rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(228) [sender=3.2.3] ​


    after downgrading to older version ( 3.1.3-5 ) on both sides, everything  starts working again...not funny. any idea whats up? maybe because of the removed links in /usr/bin ?  but how to adress this? the --rsync-path option seems not to work,

    I did a quick test but I don't issue in my machines.
    Please could you run the verbose mode(-vvvv) to check if it gives any hints about the errors

    i tried it today and for some reason it worked, i changed nothing or did something else. must be the ghosts in the machine.
