  • 1.  Keytool and self signed certificates for IS

    Posted Mon January 06, 2003 06:04 PM

    Hello,

Has anyone used keytool to generate a self signed certificate for IS?

I have IS 4.6… and I’m trying to setup an HTTPS listener… the documentation says to use the Certificate Tool Kit… but currently I’m having a problem installing it… so I decided to go with the keytool.exe provided by Sun… IS requires 3 certificates:

    Server’s Signed Certificate
    Signing CA’s Certificate
    Server’s Private Key

Can anyone tell me how I generate these using the keytool in der format?

I want a self signed certificate just to get going with my proof of concept that requires SSL…

    Thanks,
    Ken

Other keystore utilities that can help make working with keystores a bit easier:

If you want to replace keytool with a GUI tool then you can also use CERTivity.
