    Given that IBM seems to work with JSONata I started to bork into that syntax.

    In IBM App Connect - Designer - ? - The integrated help seems to know not much about https://docs.jsonata.org

    Who is supporting the IBM edition/integration of jsonata?

    E.g. Function $parseDate is available in IBM, but not in the external docu.

    The documentation on jsonata.org covers what is available in the open source project, maintained by its community. JSONata is extensible, and App Connect Designer uses JSONata and adds its own functions, such as $parseDate. Details on these functions have been covered in a blog post on this community which explains how to use them.
