Hi @Peter Wrampe
That the file appears as greyed out would seem to indicate you do not have full rights to this file.
You could control the location of the journal file with the "Edit -> Options" or the "SPSS Statistics -> Settings" menus. Go to the "File Locations" tab
Redirect the location of the journal fiel to a path where you have full rights. If doing this resolves your issue, you might talk with your local IT about why the default location within your home directory path did not work. You should have complete control of that path and its contents.

Subject: Journal file (*.jnl)
I am using SPSS 28 on my MacBook Air - macOS Ventura 13.0.1.
When I locate the statistics.jnl file it is greyed-out and can not be opened. Since the file is very small, only 1KB, I am not even sure the data was written to it.
Any guidance would be most appreciated.
Peter
