  • 1.  Job with multiple report views - how to send in one email?

    Hi, we are using Cognos Analytics v11.1 R3 and I want to have a scheduled job(?) that runs 6 report views and sends 6 Excel spreadsheets (one for each view) in one email. I created a job and scheduled it to run every week and it has the 6 report views as steps in the job. However, this job is generating 6 emails (one Excel spreadsheet per email). Is there a way I can get one email with all of the Excel spreadsheets (report views)? I've done some searching in various forums on this, and have seen mention of "Event Studio", but I don't believe I have access (not an administrator). Any help would be greatly appreciated!     Yes, you are correct. We use Event studio for smiliar requirement on 11.1.14. I heard IBM would eventually remove event studio from standard offerings.
    Event studio can be access via ​​New > Other .
    You may have to work with your admin to define event studio capabilities for your cognos group. good luck.

    Hi Melody - you might have Event Studio, but you might not be seeing it at the moment. You can only use it in Internet Explorer...it's not available in Chrome.

    OK, here's a follow-up question about Event Studio. From what I've read so far, I need to specify an event condition as some type of criteria for one/more data items. However, I don't care about the data in this case - I just want to send 6 report views in one email to various email addresses on a monthly basis. Is there a way I can do that? Thanks.

    To handle similar case,we have a event condition which says like 1=1 or country code = something valid from the data.
    The above condition is always expeted to be true and then you set tasks for each report to run.
    At the final step, we have 'Send an email' task with all attachments and message. Hope this helps.
