Hi All,
We're currently testing a model on the latest version of PA and have a few issues.
There are some TI processes that leverage Java Extensions, which were built many years ago on Java 8.
I've been trying to update the extension to Java 17, but I keep getting a specific error that I'm unsure how to solve.
I've completed these steps;
- Downloaded and installed the Eclipse IDE 2025-09 (4.37.0) version
- Repointed the JRE and javatiapi.jar files to the tm1_64 folder (Java version 17.0.16.0)
- Rebuilt the extension.jar file successfully.
- Added/replaced jar file in the data folder in }javaextensions\user
- Pointed the JavaJVMPath to the E:\ibm\tm1_64\jre\bin\default\jvm.dll file (Which states its version 17.0.16.0)
- Added "permission java.security.AllPermission;" to the configuration\javaextenstions.policy file
- Start the service
- Always get this exception
- Executing the process returns this error.

Do Java extensions only work with Java 8 or have I configured something incorrectly?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
