  • 1.  How to ISVA decide if iv-user should be in upper lower case.

    Posted 07/27/22 04:58 AM
    Hi,

I wonder how the iv-user decision to use upper lower case of the user.

    For example.

if a user is provisioned as uid=123L (not writing out the complete dn here)
If you login using the standard form based login with 123l the iv-user becomes 123l
and the same if you write 123L in the login form it becomes 123L
So how the user is provisioned doesn't seem to mater.

This becomes a problem if the backend is case sensitive and only wants the iv-user in upper-case as 123L.
Can someone explain how this works and if it's possible to configure how it should handle the iv-user case?

    Mikael,
The cache-return-registry-id setting controls whether WebSEAL caches the user id as entered by the user during authentication or as stored in the user registry.
    See the following documentation:  https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/sva/10.0.4?topic=ls-cache-return-registry-id
