  • 1.  ITX 11.0.2 Launcher HC Failure

    After upgrading to ITX 11.0.2, the system intermittently encounters the error:

    HC Failure / Socket recv failure : error 10054

    When this occurs, the launcher stops randomly. There is no option to stop it from the management console. The only workaround is to kill the Windows process manually. Once killed, the process restarts and successfully processes the pending events without error.

    This behavior did not occur in ITX 10.0.1, where the system worked as expected.

    Anything different in ITX 11.0.2?

    Yes - instead of using the ini file for any customized settings the launcher now uses a yaml file. The default yaml is probably not the best option for your environment. IBM/HCL released an ini2yaml converter, but we didn't have complete success with that tool and ended up manually editing most of it and making sure it was edited the same way for all our servers.  I was thankfully spared the editing task, but if you have specific question on settings my manager/co-worker who worked out all the settings may be able to comment on what might work.  But I know this was a major change in the Launcher configuration in 11x.

    Please note - when skipping past major release versions (such as 11.0.0) it is important to read the Release Notes and the What's New for the skipped releases in order to avoid surprises.

    Hi,

    We have opened a ticket to IBM.

    config.yaml was adapted based on dtx.ini, that's not the issue, we already checked the notes.

    It causes an exception, completedly random.
