I have a weird problem with SPSS Statistics 25.0.0.0. The operating system is Windows 10. I manually enter patient cases row by row to my sav-file, and after each row I hit ”Save”. Occasionally the issue happens: the newest row is then replaced with weird cube-like symbols and decimal numbers, they are always the same. More rarely, a value (patient id) of the third column in a lower row is copied over a value in my current case’s row.

You've mentioned having IBM SPSS Statistics 25.0.0.0 deployed. This product has had two (2) fixpacks released for it to address customer reported program defects. So that would be my first suggestion for you: Please download and apply the latest fixpack for this product.
