I have created Virtual scsi on both VIO server & client.And I mapped a LUN from VIO server to my client for my client lpar's rootvg.

While booting my client LPAR I can see the Adapter which I have created but disk is not visible.

Then I noticed that in VIO server the output of lsmap -all |grep vhost shows the LPAR id as o.

kindly share your ideas to solve this. I guess I may missed out something somewhere...

Since you are able to see the adapter while booting up the lpar in SMS (I presume), the mapping looks fine, in which case lsmap should not have shown the client partition ID as zero.

So in the HMC check the "Server Adapter Mapping" if it is allocated to the correct LPAR. Also check the LPAR & VIO properties if the adapter ID mapping on both is correct.

Yeah I have checked all and it looks fine.

But when I tried to create a V-scsi in vio client Lpar, while clicking on VIOs info I got following error.

"There was an error while retrieving the Virtual IO connection status for the managed system.Execute a rebuild managed system opertaion"
And I ran rebuild, even the the issue is not resolved.But is the will cause this issue? and if yes how to overcome this?

In VIO Server , Please check Disk is Accessible by entering command through oem_setup_env # lquerypv -h /dev/hdiskx where x is your assigned hdisk number.

Also If OS is not Installed you may NOT view disk in SMS menu, Unless you actually start an tftpboot or media install till you get to point on sms to select disk.
