  • 1.  Issue MWS SSL certificate Mysql CE

    Posted Sat September 12, 2020 12:01 PM

    Hello,

I have download and installed the free trial v10.5 from softwareag community.
I have installed the mysql community edition v8.0.18
All configurations db were made, but when i run mws_default i have this warning:

    “”"
WARN: Establishing SSL connection without server’s identity verification is not recommended. According to MySQL 5.5.45+, 5.6.26+ and 5.7.6+ requirements SSL connection must be established by default if explicit option isn’t set. For compliance with existing applications not using SSL the verifyServerCertificate property is set to ‘false’. You need either to explicitly disable SSL by setting useSSL=false, or set useSSL=true and provide truststore for server certificate verification.
    “”“”

What is the location of the file contains the property ?

Thank you for your help !

    Hi.

Can you first clarify if you followed section “Configuring My webMethods Server to Use MySQL Community Edition“ in the My webMethods Admin guide?
    The guide is here: https://documentation.softwareag.com/webmethods/mywebmethods_server/mws10-5/10-5_Administering_My_Webmethods_Server.pdf

Can you also let me know the DB info in the file mws.db.xml at this location: “Software AG_directory \MWS\server\serverName\config”

Your server name is likely default.

    Regards
    Wayne

It looks like a DB connection issue. Are you sure the DB URL, user ID and password are valid?

    Hi Aladdin,

Why not you download DBVisualiser and test configure a JDBC connection to the said DB using the same properties and also utilizing the same JDBC driver to see. If you’re also not able to connect, it’s most likely cause by something outside of webMethods/MWS.

It could be one or more following causes:

    1. IP address or hostname in JDBC URL is wrong.
    2. Hostname in JDBC URL is not recognized by local DNS server.
    3. Port number is missing or wrong in JDBC URL.
    4. DB server is down.
    5. DB server doesn’t accept TCP/IP connections.
    6. DB server has run out of connections.
    7. Something in between Java and DB is blocking connections, e.g. a firewall or proxy.
